Stronger Partnerships and Deadline Extension
After the tumultuous recent events in the UK and Europe, the Born Digital Wine Awards, brought to you by Wine in Moderation will be strengthening international partnerships to support the principles of the awards, and so the entry deadline will be extended to allow even greater participation.
Deadline extended to the 18th of July, 2016
It is now more important than ever that we find positive ways to foster cooperation and understanding between people. For that reason the BDWAbyWIM has been building partnerships with associations across the world who will be promoting the awards in their countries, such as the Federación Española de Vinos and Bodegas de Argentina, and our Professional Association Partners, FIJEV, the International Federation of Wine and Spirit Journalists and Writers.
In order to give time for new audiences to take part, the BDWAbyWIM will be extending the closing deadline for entries from the 7th of July to the 18th of July, 2016
These awards were launched for a very specific reason – to bring the wine community from across the world together. Wine is enjoyed all across the globe. It has been made to be shared, and has formed an integral part of rituals, ceremonies and social occasions, for millennia.
However, turning those experiences of wine into words or pictures has remained a largely local affair, divided by distance, and by language. The arrival of digital media and networks promised a new way to break down barriers, and the possibility to make wine the key to a new, truly inclusive and global social conversation.
Vrazon have worked for years to find ways to bring these voices together and to show how varied and exciting the culture of wine is in different regions and countries. Wine in Moderation promoting the values of moderation and responsibility in this shared wine culture, stepped in us the ideal partner to help Vrazon deliver these awards.
While wine may not be the most pressing topic on the minds of British, European and other citizens of the world at this moment, it is something that we share a love for, and can act as a bridge between people. It has therefore become important not just for the world of wine, but for the world more generally.
We raise a glass to friends, and to greater understanding.
